Teachers, watch out!

A local college teacher in Kashmir was arrested by Indian authorities for writing an exam "with anti-India content." The district police chief, Ashiq Bukhari, said they "have arrested Noor Mohammad Bhat under (the) Unlawful Activities Act." According to Bukhari, the exam contained questions attempting "to glorify the Kashmiri stone pelters and to project separatist views." The region of Kashmir is divided among Pakistan, China, and India. India gained control of a Pakistan-inspired insurgency and has since been fighting Muslim Kashmiris who want independence from Hindu-dominated India. As educators, teachers are supposed to educate the students on India and its traditions. Content about Muslim Kashmiris is strictly prohibited.
