Haiti's lost of sovereignty

Violent protests occurred in Haiti due to preliminary presidential election results. All the streets were closed, and all the facilities were shuttered. Protesters were angry about current President, Rene Preval. Preval was proven ineffective for his leadership during the Haiti earthquake crisis. President Preval, being an ineffective ruler, ignited protesters by edging out Michel Martelly, popular singer in Haiti, in a January runoff. Along with President Preval’s action, the irregularity of election caused the protesters to spur violent protest. Senator Lambert asserted that “the international community” had pressured the electoral board to create “diplomatically engineered” results because they feared instability. International influence to the Haiti’s electoral process eventually messed up the election results and thereby creating protests. Seems like Haiti has lost its sovereignty.
