Breaking down... well, CHOPPING down tradition in the UK

"Famous Christian landmark tree chopped down in Britain"

Every year, the English Queen receives a sprig from the Glastonbury Holy Thorn Tree to grace her Christmas table. (The tree is believed to go back as far as Queen Elizabeth II and the young ages of Christianity.) This year, however, will unfortunately be the last year of the tradition. After the sprig was cut this week with a televised ceremony and celebration, someone(s) vandalized and cut down this famous tree. Was it an act of atheism? Of anti-monarchism? Of anti-nationalism? The police will continue to investigate as the rest of the citizens mourn at such a devastating tradition lost.
