Mexican drug cartels not 100% Mexican

A 14-year-old United States citizen is being accused by Mexican officials of beheading 4 individuals for a Mexican cartel. "El Ponchis" was born in a San Diego, California, according to Mexican officials. He then moved to a poor, urban neighborhood near the city of Cuernavaca, Mexico. For several years, he has been forced to work for Mexican cartels, including the act of committing murders. The boy said, "I did it drugged and under threat that if I didn't, they would kill me," when interviewed by the media. He will face charges of murder and organized crimes. However, being a minor, the boy will be "tried under a state juvenile law that carries a maximum of just three years in prison if convicted." This case, together with the ever-growing trafficking of drugs, has put a spotlight on Mexican drug cartels. However, a spot in the media will not be enough action to adequately address the threat that Mexican drug cartels pose on citizens, both in the U.S. and in other countries.
