Senior Chinese Official Finally Meets North Korean Leader

President Obama spoke with President Hu Jintao of China by telephone in order to talk about the tensions growing on the Korean peninsula. President Obama, as well as Mike Mullen, requested China to put more effort to North Korea so that the escalating threats of war would decrease. President Obama had practiced military strategy with South Korea few weeks ago in order to pressure North Korea. North Korea had bombed YeongPeong area in South Korea, thereby greatly increasing the threat of war. This event caused President Obama to react firmly toward North Korea. In response to United States, Chinese Foreign ministry spokesmen criticized United States’ action toward Norht Korea by saying, “Military threats won’t solve the problem, but to increase tension.” Using China, the country who has the most contact with North Korea, seems to be the only way to deal peacefully with North Korea.
