Chilean Prisons are HOT, HOT, HOT!

After a fire started in a Chilean prison because of a fight between inmates, prison guards would not let firefighters enter the building for fear of inmates escaping. At least 83 people were killed in the fire and the bodies have not been identified yet. The prison, which was only supposed to hold 1100 prisoners, was very overcrowded with 1960 inmates. Overcrowding continues to be a problem throughout Chile.

  1. THAT'S INSANE! It's sad that it takes huge events like this to really make a point. This will definitely be an eye opener to the Chilean government, which has no choice now but to recognize that the country needs more prison facilities.
